MINISAFARI - INFO

MINISAFARI
Our popular 3-days minisafaris, departs every Wednesday and Saturday from our jetty at Magawish hotel. On the safari you get a chance to really experience what the Red Sea can offer, like wrecks, walls, drifts, intense coral reef and peaceful night diving. There are plenty of divesites in the Red Sea, suitable for all experience levels, because most of the divesites can offer easy ass well as more advanced diving. The route goes either north or south. Weather conditions, the divers experience level and requests are the factors that finally determine the route.
The northern safari is suitable for divers who are interested in both wreck- and reef diving. North we find among others, the famous wreck of Thistlegorm, Rosalie Muller and the wrecks of Abu Nuhas.
On the southern safari, we go down towards the Safaga area, where we find amazing coral reefs and excellent dive sites, suitable for all experience levels. The fantastic reef of Abu Kafan, the Panorama reef and the famous wreck of Salem Express are situated in the Safaga area.
The price includes place in a shared cabin, all meals, drinking water, one of our guides and 3 to 4 dives per day. Additional to the price is safari taxes of 3 Euro per day and a National Park fee, if we visit Giftun area. You can of course rent all the equipment from us and you are also welcome to bring your own. During the autumn and winter season, the weather can be a bit rough and after several dives it you can get cold, so bring warm clothes with you!
Here is an example of how we plan our minisafaris. We have chosen some of the best dive sites, north and south. Requests for dive sites are of course welcome and weather conditions will be considered when choosing the dives for the day.
Northern safari:
Day 1:
Early departure from Magawish jetty. Check dive at Um Qammar. After the check dive we go to the wrecks of Abu Nuhas, where we try to make 2 dives. We stay for the night at Dolphin House, where we also make a dive when in the dusk or a night dive. Big chance to see dolphins!

Day 3:
We make an early morning dive at Bluffpoint, to see how the marine life round the reef is slowly awakening. The second dive for the day is on Shab´brur and the safari ends with a dive on one of the beautiful reefs of Giftun national park.
